Dear my friends,
First of all, I would like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all of you
who forward my email to your friends, who are gathering relief goods,
who are setting up fund-rasing and donation campaign, and who pray for
Japan. At the same time, please accept MY APOLOGY that I wrote message
in a hysterical manner lacking of logical mind to report to all of you
in the world.
1. New List Refugee Need and Update ListThese are added items refugee
need:Razor, After-shave Lotion, Shampoo usable without water, Wet
Tissue, Nail Cutter, Rubber Boots, Work Gloves.
Thanks to all your supports, there seem enough clothes at each spots
in Yamagata. But kids goods such as diaper, powdered milk, and
sanitary goods such as plastic wrap, tissues, sanitary items, are
still not enough. IF YOU LIVE IN YAMAGATA, PLEASE BRING THOSE GOODS IN
BOX TO EACH CITY OFFICE. It is the best way to check with your local
city officer what they need.
2. I Have Got More Than Capacity AlreadyToday the government has
announced that each city and village accept relief goods and give them
out refugee equally. Thanks to your supports, in my restaurant there
are relief goods far more than my personal capacity. As a manager of a
traditional Japanese restaurant, I have received so many goodwills and
have kept it in customers' rooms. NOW I ASK ALL YAMAGATA PEOPLE TO
BRING GOODS IN EACH CITY OFFICE. However, IF YOU ARE READY TO SEND
BOXES TO ME OUTSIDE OF YAMAGATA OR FROM FOREIGN COUNTRY, please send
it to me. But my restaurant is not so big, please see the size of
relief goods.
3. Donation to UN HabitatVolunteer people working with me and my
family member are working with UN Habitat and Japan Habitat
Association to achieve the goal that all refugee get back their smile
as much as possible. We sent 2 tons of truck full load of relief goods
two times so far. We also give out meals at the place of refugee with
all goodwills local people brought to us. Ms. Mari Christine, who is
UN Habitat Friendship Ambassador, and with who my family socializing
on a family basis, calls us "Habitat Friends Yamagata." We are
looking for next land transportation sending goods to somewhere most
relief supplies are needed. To achieve this mission continuously, I
would like to ask you to make donation to Japan Habitat Association as
well as Yamagata Government.

There are cities which cannot accept refugee with their public
facilities across Yamagata Prefecture, including Kaminoyama City. In
the city of Yamagata, there are currently 2 places of refugee set up.
One accommodates about 1100 people now, and other has just opened its
door to refugee. The former is Community Sports Center of Yamagata,
and the latter is Prefecture Gymnasium of Yamagata. I was relieved to
hear "Yamagata facility is warmer than expected," by one of lady
refugee last night when I gave out Onigiri Rice Ball.
Now I am working with local barbershops to give refugee free shampoo.
The problem is: we don't have transportation between barbershops and
the place of refugee because of fuel issue. I also need to persuade
city staffs who claim definite equality toward all refugee for us,
especially when volunteer citizen set up some new services like we do.

私のメールを転送してくださった方、寄付行為を始めて下さった方、そして日本の復興をお祈りしてくださった方、皆様のお力添えに厚く御礼申し上げます。それとともに、私が既に皆様にお送りしているメールがヒステリックな文面で皆様に差し上げるには理性を欠いていた点を深くお詫び申し上げます。
1.新しく必要としている物品のリストひげ剃り、シェービングジェル、水を使わないシャンプー、ウエットティッシュ、爪切り、長靴、軍手。皆様のお力添えで、着衣は十分あるように見受けられます。しかし、お子様用おむつ、粉ミルク、サランラップややティッシュや女性用品等の衛生用品、などがまだ足りないようです。もし山形県内にお住まいの方は、市町村役所の担当者様にお持ち込みください。担当の方に何が必要なのか事前に聞くと大変有効であります。
2.私の個人的収容能力の限界に到達しました山形県と各市町村は、それぞれの役所の担当課が物資を取りまとめて公平に避難者の方にお届けすることが決まりました。皆様にこの数日物資の提供を呼びかけさせて頂き、そして多くの方にご協力を頂きました。しかし、現在陸上輸送手段確保の困難により、私どもの店舗でお預かりする場所の収容能力が限界に達し、これ以上現状でお受けできなくなりました。山形にお住まいの方は、先に記しましたように、地域の行政の窓口にお持ち込みいただくようにお願い申し上げます。山形以外の方で私宛に物資を発送するご用意のある方は、発送の際にご一報ください。私どもの店舗はそれほど大きくありませんが、精一杯皆様の善意をお困りの方にお届けしたく存じます。
3.国連ハビタットへの献金のお願い私ども家族とともにボランティアで働いてくださった方々は、国連ハビタットと日本ハビタット協会と共に活動をさせて頂きました。それは、災害被災者の方々が一人でも多く笑顔を取り戻すために、尽力したものであります。現在までに、２トントラックに満載した物資を二度、被災地へ送ることが出来ました。避難生活の地では、私どもにお届けいただいた善意とともに、おにぎりをお届けいたしました。私どもと家族ぐるみでおつきあいをしておる、国連ハビタット親善大使マリクリスティーヌさんは、山形のこのような活動を「ハビタットフレンズ山形」と名付けました。救援物資を最も必要としている方々へ第三便としてお届けするべく陸上輸送手段を現在探しております。このミッションを継続的に達成すべく、日本ハビタット協会へのご寄付を、山形県へのご寄付とともにお願い申し上げます。

山形市の周囲の市町村では、上山市など、もうこれ以上避難されている方を受け入れられる許容量を遥かに越えた方がいらしております。山形市では、山形市総合スポーツセンターのほかに、山形県体育館が避難生活のために門戸が開かれました。昨夜、おにぎりを配りに行った際に、避難されている方に、想像以上に会場が暖かいですね、との言葉に、私はほっといたしました。
そして現在、私は山形市内の理容店美容店の方々が、無料でシャンプーをさせて頂きたい、と申し出があり、理容店と避難生活所との交通手段が燃料問題のためになく、それを解決したく思っております。また、行政の方々が思う「平等な避難生活」には、そのシャンプー活動は人数が非常に限られますので、反するために、行政の方々を説得する方法を検討いたしております。
