Daidune (Udon Noodle) in Higashi-Ginza

This place used to be a vegetable shop and the owner started this Udon noodle shop, so their vegetable is so fresh.

They have a piano. You can enjoy both Jazz and Uson at night. That is such an interesting combo.

Hyotan-ya (Unagi Eel) in Ginza

My favorite Unagi eel restaurant is in Ginza. There are two Hyotanya
in Ginza. I've been to only 6-chome one since it's close to my office. I think 1-chome one is older.

Real eels are very expensive in Japan. They provide eels with reasonable prices but soooooooo good.

Eels are cooked differently between Kanto (Tokyo) area and Kansai (Osaka) area. Hyotan-ya cuts eels in Kanto way and cooks in Kansai way. Eels are steamed first before grilling in Kanto, but they are directly grilled in Kansai.

Hyotan-ya of course uses charcoals. You can see how they make Unagi in 6-chome restaurant (probably 1-chome too.) That would be very interesting to see for foreign travellers.

SURYA (Indian)

I love Indian curry. San Francisco has many good Indian restaurants. Comparing to them, unfortunately Indian restaurants in Tokyo are too expensive or not so good, but I could say SURYA is an exception. Their chicken tika masala is the BEST!

All employee are Indian, but the waiter is fluent enough in Japanese. I don't know if he can speak English but they have the English menu. Also please note that their cheese nan is very original and yum!

They are introduced in TV and magazines so many times. You can see many celebrities' photos on their wall.
