From March to May, Japanese society was also greatly affected by the spread of the new coronavirus,
Schools were closed, an emergency declaration was issued,
The environment surrounding children has changed significantly.
In child-raising families, food expenses increased because there was no school meal.
Some of them were forced to miss work because of their children.
Their burden increased day by day.
In such a situation, we seriously considered how we could continue to support children while taking measures to prevent the spread of infection.
From March until the corona virus disease reduce, we switched the canteen to a free distribution of bento (meal packs to take away home).

We thought that it’s needed to support the whole family, so we distributed it to children and also their families free of charge.
Below is the report of the free distribution of bento boxes.

● Jollof rice (African food) or Japanese mix rice or Jamaican rice and beans
● Grilled chicken or boiled beef
● Croquette
● Fried fish
● Fried potatoes
● Hijiki (seaweed/Japanese food)
● Kinpira (Japanese food)
● Boiled Spinach
● Boiled egg
● Tomato pasta
● Potato salad
● Edamame (Green beans)
● Tomato slice
● Stir-fried vegetables
● Takuan (Japanese pickled radish)
It has become a season when both temperature and humidity are high.
In order to prevent food poisoning, we are careful about the temperature control and hygiene of cooking.
There is antibacterial sheet in the bento pack.
We also asked the participants to eat early and reheat it before eating.
