In his first news conference in Japan in 37 years. Medina-shy author Haruki Murakami announced Nov.4 that he is donating drafts of his novels and other material to Waseda University, his alma mater. Murakami said he wants to create an archive because “I have no children to take care of the materials. I didn't want them to be lost.”
