《Walking in the Sky １－２０》
※ 僕が体験した国際線ジェット機、小型機 (セスナ)、水上飛行機、ヘリコプター、スカイダイビングの空から眺めた雲海の朝焼け、奇怪な大雲平原などのPHOTO ESSAY を前巻の”クック船長の世界旅”とは違った視点で、心のままに綴りたいと思っています。

【氷河は雲の影で変貌する】
【Glaciers Re-created the Appearance by Clouds】
暗黒の空の最奥、天と地の境界だけが黎明のように明るいわずかな空間は、果てることのない宇宙への入り口か、と幻想します。
北極地方あるいは遥か高緯度の冬は太陽を眺めることがないからでしょう、春の太陽光線に憧れると言います。誰かが絵の中で表現していたように思います。太陽に憧れている彼らは、いく筋かの 「天使のはしご」 などが見られれば、素直に感動するでしょう。
空を眺めていて、薄暗い雲の隙間から、太陽光線の直線が空中に落ちてくるのを見ると、すごい（！）、と、日本人の僕も魅了されます。
さて、太陽光線と暗い雲と白い雲と氷河の世界です。
モクモクとした白い雲と黒い雲が氷河と融合すると、山の景色はすっかりと変貌します。
There was a bright opening far at the boundary between the dark sky and the glacier mountains. That view gave me an imagination or illusion of a door into the unlimited space.
People in the Arctic or high latitudes do not sight the sun at all, whole winter, wherefore they might be delighted to have the first daylight in the early spring. They might be even excited.
I hear that European people would be excited when they see the ladders of sunbeam, Angel's Ladders running from heaven to the earth, the sky of which is lovely.
Now the story is about the sun, dark and light clouds and the glaciers.
The glacier mountains combined with drifting cloud masses looked active, or vital while I was flying around in a tiny seaplane.
The light-blue ice seemed to make a rapid flow down the slopes with the movement of dark and bright clouds.
They often say " Nature is alive ", which was seemingly true there.
流れる暗雲が濃く、淡く広がると、薄水色の氷河は急激なスピードで走り（そのように見えます）、山の斜面を駆け落ちる、僕はそんな幻覚を覚え、自然界の不思議を感じました。自然は生きている、と誰かが言っていました・・・。
アンカレッジの水上（湖の）飛行場で水上飛行機の出発を待っているとき、山の方は巨大な雲の塊が氷山一帯を覆っているようでした。
やがて雲は分離して流れ、千切れ雲、あるいは空を覆うほどの暗い雲だったり、真っ白な綿雲だったり、雲と氷河が所々で融合し、激しい動的な芸術を創っていたのです。

However when the weather was quiet, glacier mountains showed me lovely views, with the still harbour, reflecting the cliffs and glaciers.
穏やかな天気の時には、静謐な氷河の山々が湾の水面に映え、とても魅力的でした。
