Ooo it's been awhile hasn't it. I finally have a reliable connection back!

Things have been relatively uneventful the past little while, aside from a REALLY bad day last week. That was the first time in a long time (probably a year at least, maybe a little longer) that my anxiety disorder had gotten so out of hand that I couldn't get control of it. Worse, the effects lasted for a couple days afterward before I finally started feeling better again. I hate that, it feels like I've wasted three days because of how deeply it affects my body. It's pure exhaustion to the point that it robs you of motivation. It's horrible. So, that's the last straw I've finally decided. I've changed my food intake and upped my exercise routine, so I suppose I'll document my progress on how that's going here. I think I'm also going to start cooking again too! I love cooking and baking, but laziness got the better of me. And I have way too many recipes I want to try to just let them linger on my computer. I wonder if there's anything I can do with those semi-sweet baking chocolates I have leftover. I probably shouldn't indulge in too many sweets just yet, and it's probably the change in eating that's making me feel like I'm craving sweets. But it's so tempting...

The nice weather has brought out some old and new visitors. There are a pair of hawks that live on the escarpment just behind where I live, and aside from one close encounter in the park a couple years ago they've always been at a distance. This year, totally different story! I see them all the time flying quite low, and I don't know if it's because I've never really paid attention before and now I always notice, or if maybe they're hunting more in the urban areas than before. But I'm loving getting to see them. And these little guys:

I've been seeing them EVERYWHERE! They're called Red Admirals, and I think it's all the trees blooming is what's brought them out. I had to look them up. Now that I have, I want to get some asters for my patio garden. It's not what they prefer, but it'll keep bringing them around. Plus they're lovely autumn flowers.
