JAPAN FILM FESTIVAL LOS ANGELESにて『Okagesama de 〜ハワイ日系女性の軌跡〜』が公式セレクトされました。
Our film "Okagesama de ~Hawaii Nikkei Women's Trajectory~" was officially selected at JAPAN FILM FESTIVAL LOS ANGELES.

1月22日は、熊本県南部の町芦北町にて、今年最初の上映会が開催されました。
この上映会を主催したのが、寛永年間中ごろ（1630年代）に細川藩が組織した鉄砲隊を復活させた『葦北鉄砲隊』の皆さんです。
葦北鉄砲隊の皆さんは、2018年の『元年者150周年』に熊本からの使節団として、ハワイ島で演舞を行い地元の日系人と交流をしました。
その後、令和２年に芦北町が未曾有の水害にあった際、ハワイ島の日系組織から$15,000もの義援金が寄せられました。
葦北鉄砲隊の皆さんは、今回、松元が『Okagesama de』の上映の舞台挨拶に熊本を訪問するということで、「義援金を寄せてくれたハワイの日系人について、町民に知ってもらいたい」との想いで上映会を企画し開催してくださり、およそ280名もの来場者がありました。
芦北町に近い八代からは、沢山の移民がコナコーヒー農家に集まっています。
こういった日本とハワイのリレーションシップの一助となる事は、私たちNAC-Jの非営利活動の一つです。
葦北鉄砲隊の皆さまのハワイ日系人に対する想いに、大変敬意を払うと共に、今回の機会に感謝申し上げます。

On January 22nd, the first screening of this year was held in Ashikita, a town in the southern part of Kumamoto Prefecture.
The organizers of this screening were the Ashikita Matchlock Corps, who revived the gun corps organized by the Hosokawa clan in the middle of the Kan'ei era (1630s).
At the 2018 Gannenmono 150th Anniversary Celebration, members of the Ashikita Matchlock Corps, as one of the delegations from Kumamoto, performed on the island of Hawaii and interacted with local Nikkei people.
After that, when Ashikita was hit by an unprecedented flood in 2020, a donation of $15,000 was received from a Japanese American organization on the island of Hawaii.
This time, the director Matsumoto will visit Kumamoto to give a stage greeting for the screening of our new movie "Okagesama de", and the Ashikita matchlock corps said, "I want you to know about the Japanese Americans who donated money." He planned and held a screening with his thoughts, and there were about 280 visitors.
From Yatsushiro, which is close to Ashikita, many immigrants gathered at Kona coffee farmers.
It is one of our NAC-J's non-profit activities to support such a relationship between Japan and Hawaii.
I would like to express my deepest respect to the Ashikita Matchlock Corps for their feelings towards the Japanese Americans in Hawaii, and I would like to express my gratitude for this opportunity.

ですが、私どもが制作しておりました『Okagesama de 〜ハワイ日系女性の軌跡〜』は、ハワイ国際映画祭で公式に選ばれハワイでのプレミア上映となる事が決まりました。

但し、この栄誉は、決して私たちのものではなく、既作の『Go for Broke! ハワイ日系二世の記憶』同様、ハワイ社会が日系の先人に対し敬意を表してくれたものだと考えています。
なお、今回提出しているのは英語版です。ポスターやフライヤー制作等、国内での上映に向けて、まだまだ多数の作業と費用が必要となります。

I would like to "Okagesama" thank all the many people who have support me reach this point. Mahalo everyone.
However, I believe that this evaluation is not mine, but about the respect that the Hawaii community has for the Japanese ancestors and Japanese American Nikkei.
長らくブログを怠ってしまいました。
『Go for Broke! ハワイ日系二世の記憶』は、変わらず上映を重ねておりますし、次回作『Okagesama de 〜ハワイ日系女性の軌跡〜』も試写版までは出来ております。あとは、短縮させ日本語字幕を入れたら完成となる予定ですが、予算集めがなかなか難航しています。
さて、2020年2月、第4回目の「二世に会い、日系の歴史に触れるツアー」を実施しました。
昨年、これまでいつも会っていた二世の方が立て続けに亡くなり、もうまともに会えるヴェテランは2名だけです。
今回は、それ以外に次回作で証言する方々との交流もありました。
