The new VivoTab Series is available in two flavors. The VivoTab RT sports a 10.6-inch Super IPS+ display and is the first tablet from Asus to run on Microsoft's new ARM-optimized Windows RT operating system. It's available with either 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage. The VivoTab RT will start at $599. The second of the new VivoTabs, the VivoTab Smart, also packs a 10.6-inch Super IPS+ display, but runs on the x86 version of Windows 8. This hybrid tablet is available in four different colors and can also be kitted out with an optional smart cover.

Next in the new lineup is the Asus ET2300 with battery like Toshiba Satellite A70 Battery , Toshiba Satellite A75 Battery , Toshiba Tecra 8000 Battery , Toshiba Tecra 8100 Battery , Toshiba Tecra 9000 Battery , Toshiba Tecra 9100 Battery , Toshiba Satellite 1900 Battery , Toshiba Satellite A60-662 Battery , Toshiba Satellite A65 Battery , Toshiba Satellite 2100 Battery , Toshiba PA3291U-1BAS Battery , Toshiba PA3591U-1BAS Battery All-in-One PC. Featuring a 23-inch multitouch high-definition IPS display, its double-hinge design allows it to be used as a traditional desktop with an upright display as well as a canvas that folds flat. In addition to its four USB 3.0 ports, the ET2300 also has two Intel Thunderbolt ports as well as HDMI input. Beneath the hood, the ET2300 is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and can be configured with either a discrete Nvidia GT630M GPU or left to run the built-in integrated Intel HD graphics.

Asus also introduced its new Transformer Book, a detachable notebook with a high-definition display that can be removed from its keyboard dock to serve as a slate. The tablet itself sports an Intel Core i7 processor and runs Windows 8. For those who prefer their systems to remain in one piece, Asus also announced that its Zenbook family of ultrabooks will be expanded to include full HD IPS multitouch displays designed to optimize the Windows 8 user experience.

Most of the attention, however, fell on the new Asus Taichi, which was understandable given its dual-screen design with 1080p displays, both of which can be used simultaneously or independently of one another. Thanks to its dual displays, the Taichi's form factor can go from that of a a standard ultrabook to a tablet without the use of hinges, switches, or any of the other mechanisms that we've been seeing populate the hybrid market. The Taichi is available in several different configurations which feature Intel Core i5 or i7 processors as well as 128GB or 256GB SSD storage capacities.

What's more, the Taichi will sport Intel's Wireless Display (WiDi) technology as well as dual USB ports and up to five hours of battery life. The Asus Taichi will be available in November and will start at $1,299.

Asus rounded out its unveiling with the news that its Zenbook family of ultrabooks will be expanded to include full HD IPS multitouch displays designed to optimize the Windows 8 user experience.
