My husband had a business to do in a small town facing the Japan Sea this week,
and he wetted his line for a couple of hours to fill the time in-between his appointments.
He caught two of each kind, as you can see, but he gave one Sebastes to an old couple
who were traveling around in a camping car, who happened to talk to him.
It was our first time to have surfperch, because when we caught them last week,
we released them immediately not knowing how to eat.
This time, I cleaned the fish and salted, then grilled on the next day.
The meat was soft, and tasted really good.
I made the Sebastes into sashimi, and he enjoyed it on the next day, licking good sake.
I decided to buy a good cooking knife to make fish into sashimi,
for it seems his enthusiasm for fishing would last rather long...
