I've knitted a sweter for my husband before we got married as a birthday + Christmas + Valentine’s Day present. I hurried to start knitting and skipped making a testing gauge. The sweater ended up being too large for him, and I pretended not to notice the fact. Hey, it took me months to make it! He wore the sweater probably just to make me happy for a couple of times, and it was tucked away at the back of a wardrobe. I still don't understand why I decided to do it, but I started to re-knit the sweater. It was an unbelievably troublesome work to unknit, wash the yarn, then dry, and twine into balls, AND knit. I carefully took gauge, determined not to make the same mistakes, and knitted up a second sweater. The innocent miscalculation was that my husband had gained before I finished the work. The sweater is a bit small for him now, and he started going to a gym to work out.
