The season of apple

Hello

My name is Nao Adamson.

I am a Japanese essayist writing about

international marriage with my English husband.

Here in Niigata, weather is awful these days.

Every day we have enormous amount of snow.

How is the weather in your hometown?

Well, recently my parents sent us lots of apples from Nagano.

Nagano Prefecture where my hometown

is located is famous for its apples

because the amount of the fruit which

are produced the area is No. 2 across Japan

Therefore, my darling and I eat

many apples around this season.

I made apple compote last weekend.

Then I baked sweets called "apple crumble"

which I learned from my English mother-in-law.

Actually, apple crumble is my darling's favourite sweets.

We usually have it with vanilla ice cream.

It is such a cold season

but let's eat tasty food to build stamina.

りんごの季節

こんにちは

今日の新潟は朝から1日中雪でした。

家にいるのが一番です。

最近、長野の実家からりんごをたくさん送ってもらいました。

生で食べてもおいしいのですが、

お砂糖とレーズンを入れて、煮てみました。

そして、ダーリンのお母さんから教えてもらった

イギリスのスイーツを作ってみましたよ。

アップル・クランブルというもので、

バニラ・アイスクリームを添えて食べます。

これから寒い時期ですが、

おいしいものを食べて、乗り切りたいですね。

Christmas season!

It is getting colder and colder in Niigata

and we had a snowy day last weekend.

How is the weather in your hometown?

Well, it is in the beginning of December

which is Christmas season, isn't it?

I am not a Christian but since my darling

is an English man, we usually decorate

a Christmas tree around this season.

Although it is very cold outside,

when we see Christmas decorations,

we somehow feel heart-warming, don't we?

My darling made roast chicken for dinner last weekend.
