Academic presentation!

Hello

My name is Nao Adamson,

a Japanese essayist writing about international marriage.

My darling and I will have an academic presentation soon,

so we are busy preparing for that at the moment.

The conference is called "N. E. A. R Language Education".

"N. E. A. R" stands for "North-East Asia Region",

which includes China, Korea, Japan and Russia.

Teachers who teaches English, Chinese, Korean,

Japanese and Russian will get together

to learn about the language education.

Swan Lake!

Hello

My name is Nao Adamson,

a Japanese essayist writing about international marriage.

In Japan we had a holiday season called "Golden Week"

because there are three bank holidays within two weeks.　

My darling and I went to a lake called Hyoko

in Agano City in Niigata Prefecture to see swans.

However, most of them already went back to Siberia,

so we couldn't see so many.

Actually, I counted the number.

Almost 10 were remained in the lake though...

We bought feed for swans

but most of them were eaten by ducks.

There was a lovely promenade by the lake

and we walked under the cherry trees.

The cherry blossoms along the promenade

was nearly finished but we saw another one.

How did you spend your Golden Week?

今年のゴールデンウィークは・・・

こんにちは

国際結婚エッセイストのアダムソン直生です。

ゴールデンウィークの最後の日となりましたが、

いかがお過ごしになりましたか？　

後半は、残念ながら雨の日が続いたため、

ダーリンと私はどこへも出かけられず、

家で学会発表の練習をしたり、

ジャーナルの編集の仕事をしたりして、過ごしました。

でも、前半はお天気に恵まれたので、

ダーリンと一緒に、素敵な場所へ行きましたよ。

そこは、新潟県阿賀野市の瓢湖（ひょうこ）という湖です。

白鳥が飛来する場所としても知られています。

しかし、今の時期ほとんど白鳥はシベリアへ帰ってしまい、

あまりたくさんは見られませんでした。

私が数えたところ、10羽ほど残っていましたけど・・・。

白鳥のえさを買って、餌付けすることもできました。

でも、寄って来たのはカモが多かったです。

湖のほとりには、素敵な遊歩道があって、

桜の木の下を歩きました。

遊歩道の桜は、葉桜になっていましたが、

八重桜はちょうど見ごろを迎えていました。

湖の周りは公園になっていて、アヤメ園もありました。

桜の季節が終わったら、きれいなアヤメも見られます。

日常をしばし忘れて、夢のようなひと時が過ごせました。
