HAROLD Tillman, the fashion entrepreneur behind the revived Jaeger fashion chain, is considering a flotation of his restaurant business after a series of acquisitions more than doubled the size of the enterprise.

Tillman, in partnership with his son Mitchell and nightclub operator Carlo Spetale, snapped up three London restaurants last week - The Ebury, The Waterway and Running Horse - for a sum thought to be several million pounds.

The trio already owns the Harry Morgan chain of delicatessens - which is soon to open a concession in Harrods - the super-fashionable Notting Hill Brasserie, frequented by Jude Law and Mick Jagger, and the Park Lane Asian restaurant Taman Gang, a haunt of supermodels Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell.

Tillman said the enlarged restaurant group would make operating profits of about [pounds sterling]3 million and could be worth up to [pounds sterling]30 million.

'I will probably float this one because I want to keep on expanding,' said Tillman, who has kept his other investments, including Jaeger and the Allders store in Croydon, south London, as private businesses.
