昨日はニューヨークで初めてバレエ教室に行く予定でした。
事前に予約と支払いを済ませ、意気揚々と教室に向かいました。
初めて行く場所なので、30分早く到着するように行き方を調べて出たのですが、
最初に乗る予定だったバスを1本逃してしまいました。
このバスは本数が少なく、次を待つと到着がギリギリになりそうだったので、
仕方なく徒歩で地下鉄駅に向かいました。
地下鉄を降りたら、教室までは徒歩で20分くらいだったのですが、
バスを使った方が早そうだったので、バスに乗りました。
そのバスは珍しく定刻に到着し、「よかった、間に合う！」と思ったのも束の間。
途中のバス停で高齢者などの乗客の乗降にかなり時間を食います。
そして何やらハプニングがあったらしく、数名の乗客が運転手と話し込んでからゾロゾロと降りて行きました。
なんか嫌な予感しかしない；；
やっと出発した頃には後続のバス何台かに抜かされていました。（ニューヨークバスあるある）
そしてやっと出発したと思ったら、そのバスは真っ直ぐ行くはずの道を左に曲がったのです。
交通規制によるルートの変更でもあったのでしょうか？
この時点でバスを諦め、徒歩で向かいます。
目的地に到着したのは結局レッスン開始の4分前。
着替えるのに最低でも5分はかかるので、この時点で相当焦っていました。
しかし、スタジオの入り口が見つからないし、先生に電話しても繋がらない。
絶対絶命のピンチ！

I was supposed to go to a first ballet class in New York yesterday.
I reserved and paid for the class in advance, and left home feeling very excited.
Since It was my first time to visit there, I had looked for how to get there to arrive 30 minutes before the class started,
but I missed the bus which I was going to ride.
I knew that the bus didn't come so often, and If I waited for the next one, It seemed that I would be late,
so I had no choice but to walk to the subway station.
After riding the subway, It would take 20 minutes by walk to get to the studio.
I decided to use a bus so that I could get there earlier.
Since the bus unusually arrived on time, I thought I would make it.
However, It took a while for elderly people to get on and off at the following bus stop.
moreover, something seemed to happen making several customers get off after talking with the driver.
I had nothing but bad feelings.
When the bus left, a few buses were passing by our bus. It's very common in New York though.
After the bus finally left, the bus turned left although it was supposed to go straight.
I wondered if the route changed because of traffic regulations or something.
I ended up giving up taking the bus and started walking. I finally arrived at the destination just four minutes before the schedule.
I was very upset because It would have taken at least five minutes to change clothes.
However, I was not able to find the entrance of the studio, and my teacher didn't answer my phone call.
It was a desperate situation.
