海外の交通機関はよく遅れるというのはよく耳にしますが、ニューヨークのバスは早く来すぎることもしばしばです。バスに乗るときは5分前にバス停に着くようにしているのですが、10分以上の早着でバスに乗れなかったなんてことも稀にあります。そして、ただの遅延かと思いきや、いきなり欠便になることもあります。早着や遅延の場合はgooglemapで確認できるのでまだマシなのですが、欠便の時は確認が来ず、最初は遅延の表示になるので、20〜30分待たされて、結局次の便に乗ると言う事もザラです。なんでこんな脆弱なインフラで経済が回っているのかが本当に謎。
I often hear that public transportation is often delayed overseas. However, in New York, buses often come earlier than ETA. I usually make sure to arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes before the bus's arrival when I get on buses, but it sometimes happens that I can't catch the bus because of more than 10 minutes of fast arrival. Moreover, it's a really common case that once it was thought to be delayed, turns out to be canceled. Although we can check the information on early arrivals and delays on Google Maps, we can't check the cancelation. Furthermore, It is displayed as a delay at first, making us wait for 20 to 30 minutes and get on the next bus.
It's a real mystery how this country makes the economy run with such a weak infrastructure.
