私が通っているESLでは年間4期制になっており、今週が最終週だったので、卒業パーティーがありました。私のクラスの他にもう一つクラスがあって、そちらは人数が4〜５人しかいなかったので、合同でパーティーをすることになりました。そのパーティーに参加したのは、およそ70％の学生がラテン系で、20％がロシア語圏でした。彼らはパーティーが終わるまでずっと歌ったり踊ったりしていました。私のロシア人の友達は大人しくて内気な感じなのかと思っていたのですが、パーティーではキラキラの服を着て大胆に歌ったり踊ったりしていたので、その気合の入りように驚きました。
My ESL class has 4 semesters a year, and this week was the last week, so we had a party. There was another class besides my class, which had only 4 to 5 people, so we had a party together. At the party, about 70% of the students were Latino, and about 20% were Russian speakers. They sang and danced consistently until the party ended. One of my Russian friends, who looked modest and introverted, also sang and danced boldly wearing sparkling clothes, making me surprised.
