I traveled to Lisbon in Portugal, as well as Florence and Rome in Italy from New York this time, and I found that many people here are not as amiable as they are in New York. However, It heavily depends on people. The customer service in the restaurant was very decent, and the clerk of the cafe, which I coincidentally dropped in, was friendly, explaining the difference between coffee beans in detail. Although I often go to cafes in New York since I came here 10 months ago, I've never been explained it. I think the level of customer service in New York is too low.

I recently traveled from Rome to Lisbon, Portugal, and Florence and Rome in Italy. However, Rome, being a bustling city, had its fair share of less-than-friendly people, much like in New York. Nevertheless, the level of hospitality depends on the person. While some restaurants provided excellent services, the staff at the cafe which we happened to visit was very friendly and even took time to explain different types of coffee beans. Interestingly, having lived in New York for 10 months and frequently visiting cafes, I've never received such detailed explanations about coffee beans. It seems like the overall level of customer service in New York is just too low.
