パティ・スミス（Patti Smith）「クイーン・オブ・パンク（パンクの女王)」
ザ・スターリンの亡くなった遠藤ミチロウさんが影響をうけたアーティストとしてパティ・スミスさんを挙げていたので、あまり聴いていなかった(元来自分はメタル、ハードロック好きなのも理由の1つ もしくは金銭的な理由)こともあり少し調べて聴いてみたついでに、ネタもないし、ブログにまとめてみた
Gloria
ヴァン・モリソンを己の詩情を交えてパンキッシュにカバーした「グロリア」は、パンククラシックの一つとして知られている
元来のパンキッシュ精神に基づいた宗教批判・恋愛の不満について女性が声高に叫ぶなど、文学性やアナーキー性の高いリリックも注目を集めた
このグロリアという曲は、ヴァン・モリソン率いるゼムのカヴァー曲だ。
どんな曲かというと、マッチョで、男らしさを称える古いロック観「強気で攻めたら女の子は落とせるぜ」、という曲だ。それを女性のパティ・スミスは男言葉で歌った。
それは、既存の概念に唾を吐きかけるパティ・スミスの挑戦だった。
そして冒頭と最後の詩“キリストは他の誰かの罪で死んだ でも私の罪じゃない”と歌うことによって、パティ・スミスがロックの世界に誕生したことを表明している。
つまりは、クソくらえってこと。

歌詞はパティ・スミスさんの方を採用している

セクシャルで強い意思を感じる歌詞だが、恋愛の不満について女性が声高に叫んでいる、との解釈もでき、なら、それはパンクだ
