アーネスト・アンドリュー・ロイヤル（ Ernest Andrew Royal、1921年6月2日、カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス、1983年3月16日、ニューヨーク市）は、ジャズ・トランペット奏者。彼の兄はクラリネット奏者兼アルトサックス奏者のマーシャル・ロイヤルで、彼はレイ・チャールズの古典的なビッグ・バンドのレコーディング『ジニアス・オブ・レイ・チャールズ』（1959年）に一緒に参加しています。

 

彼は1937年にレ・ハイト・オーケストラのメンバーとしてロサンゼルスで活動を始めました。その後20年間、彼はライオネル・ハンプトン、ウディ・ハーマン、カウント・ベイシー、デューク・エリントン、ウォーデル・グレイ、スタン・ケントンらと共演し、オーケストラのメンバーとしてレコーディングを行いました。 

 

1953 年、テオ・マセロ、ジョン・ルイス、ケニー・クラークらとともにチャールズ・ミンガス・オクテットとして活動。 彼は 10 枚のアルバムを指揮し、そのほとんどがパリで録音されました。
