あの時まだ学生で、ちょうど学校へ行く前で、私もルームメートもそれぞれ電話でいま自分の住む街で起きている事を知らされた。同時に外から聞こえる猛烈な救急車とパトカーの音。当時住んでたミッドタウンのアパートからもダウンタウンに広がる黒い煙がはっきりわかる。
事実を受け入れるのに時間がかかって、だけど次第に恐怖と不安に包まれてて、ただただ人々の安全を祈ってた。
2001年9月11日NYでの忘れられない記憶。
あの時一緒に過ごした友達、すぐに安否確認の連絡をくれた家族や友人に再感謝。そしていま自分がここにこうして健康でいられる事に感謝。
11 years ago, I was still in college. I was at home getting ready for a class.
I remember it took some time for me and my roommate to really understand what's happening out there in the place we live in. We could just not accept that it was really happening in the area only 20 min away from our mid-town apartment.
Sometimes I feel like i'm still hearing the sounds of ambulances and police cars driving crazy on the streets and I can still picture the dark smoke I saw from my apartment clearly in my head.
Love, peace, thoughts, prayers to the victims and their family members.
And I thank again for all of my family and friends who were with me on that day, called and emailed me right away worried about my safety. Never forget the day of 9.11.2001.
