厚生労働省は、ことし４月からの年金の支給額について、物価や賃金の上昇よりも低く抑える「マクロ経済スライド」を初めて実施することなどから、伸び率を０．９％の引き上げに抑制し、国民年金の場合、満額で月額およそ６万５０００円にすると発表しました。
年金の支給額は、物価や賃金に応じて毎年決められることになっていて、厚生労働省は、去年１年間の全国の消費者物価指数がまとまったことを受けて、ことし４月からの年金の支給額を３０日、発表しました。
それによりますと、物価や賃金の上昇から年金の支給額の伸び率は本来、２．３％になるとしています。
一方で、年金の財政基盤の強化に向けて、支給額の伸び率を物価や賃金の上昇よりも低く抑える「マクロ経済スライド」を初めて実施することで０．９％、平成１２年度から３年間、物価が下がったにもかかわらず、景気に配慮して支給額を引き下げなかった特例措置を解消するために０．５％、それぞれ差し引いた結果、支給額の伸び率を０．９％の引き上げに抑制するとしています。
具体的には、国民年金は現在の満額で月額６万４４００円から、本来の伸び率より６００円程度低い６万５００８円に、厚生年金は夫婦２人の標準的な世帯で、現在の月額２１万９０６６円から、本来の伸び率より２０００円程度低い２２万１５０７円になります。
年金の支給額が増額されるのは、平成１１年度以来１６年ぶりですが、物価の上昇分には及ばないため、実質的には引き下げとなります。
厚労相「国民にご理解を」
塩崎厚生労働大臣は閣議のあと記者団に対し、「『マクロ経済スライド』は、少子高齢化が進むなかで、年金制度を長期的に安定させるとともに、今の高齢者世代と将来の世代の助け合いのバランスを取るためのものだ。『マクロ経済スライド』の実施は、将来の世代の年金の受け取りをより確実なものにするためであり、国民にご理解をいただきたい」と述べました。

Japan's government says it will raise pension payments in April for the first time in 16 years, but that pensioners may feel their benefits are decreasing.
The welfare ministry on Friday announced pension payments for next fiscal year starting in April.
Ministry officials say pension payments should be raised 2.3 percent based on price and wage increases last year, but will be kept at 0.9 percent.
They say this is because the government will apply a so-called macroeconomic slide system for the first time.
Under the system, the rate of increase in pension payments is to be kept lower than that of wages and prices to strengthen the financial base of the pension system.
The maximum national pension payment for individuals is set at about 551 dollars a month. That's 5 dollars less than what they should originally receive.
