Label an open-box photograph with the box identifier. Similar containers on a shelf can be hard to tell apart even when you recognize the contents.
Give the box a working name in your private inventory, then include that name in the photograph's filename and note. Record which shelf it was on when photographed. If you move the box, update the location separately so the old image does not become a claim about its current position.
For a hypothetical craft cupboard, a note might say "Box C, spare fabric, middle shelf at capture." Photograph the label as well as the open contents. Avoid posting private addresses or access details in a public example.
Open the smaller copy before sending it and check that you can still read the box identifier. Keep the source photograph with the inventory. I work on Morphio and write about preparing and sharing images; the inventory note should travel with the image whichever tool you use.
