アルバム『Xscape』に収録されたこの曲ですが、やや音質に疑問のあるファンの方がいるようです。マスターが原因なのか、元々の録音が悪いのかはわかりません。
それはさておき、この曲が書かれたのは1999年から2001年、いわゆるInvincible期。
この時期を考えれば、この曲の意味が重く感じられると思います。
そう、プライベートが奪われ、金のために幾度となく裁判を起こされていたあの時期です。
いかにマイケルが人の目から逃げ出したかったかがわかる名曲だと思います。
結果的にはアルバム『Invincible』の候補から脱落しましたが、ロドニー・ジャーキンスに対してその理由をこう語っています。
「まだこの曲の特別なメッセージが伝わる時ではない。その時が来るのを待とう」と。
