この曲のオリジナルは、Sam Cooke（サム・クック）の1964年のヒット曲で、作曲もSam Cookeによる。Sam CookeのヴァージョンはアメリカBillboard Popチャート7位、R&Bチャート4位を記録した。
また、Otis Redding（オーティス・レディング）が1965年9月にアルバム「Otis Blue（オーティス・ブルー）」に収録したヴァージョンや、Small Faces（スモール・フェイセス）によるヴァージョンも知られている。
Animalsのヴァージョンは、「Eric Burdon & The Animals」としてのベスト・アルバムなどに収録されている様だ。
