2週間ぶりの自分のオフィスルーム。ここでの仕事は今週で終りなので、名残惜しみながら仕事をしている。カンボジアでは大部屋だし。今日は同じ部署の同僚たちからのフェアウェルランチ。美味しいタイ料理を満腹になるまで頂きました。あと、3日かー。
そういえば、タイでは現在swine flueが一気に広がっていて、駅でもマスクをしている人が増えてきました。今日で900人近くになるらしい。日本人も3人感染とのこと 。こんなん、どうやって避けるんだろう・・・。
☆使える英語表現
to the point of....
度合を表す表現で、「～まで」、「～するくらい」、「～ほど」など。ネイティブに言わせると、to the point of (that) に続く意味合いはほとんどが「ネガティブ」なことらしい。具体的には、
to the point of exhaustion
I don't think it's wise to work hard to the point of exhaustion.
疲れ果てるくらいまで激務するのは賢くないよね。
to the point of fainting
She was so excited about the concert to the point of fainting.
彼女は失神を起こすくらい、あのコンサートに興奮していた。
