I love to read fairy tales so much when i was a little girl. (so far, i still love to reading them
)
)I love many fairy tales especially the Disney series, such as sleeping beauty, little mermaid,
Lion King....etc.
My favorite fairy tales are Little Mermaid and Cupid and Psyche.
As we know that, in the original version of the little mermaid, Ariel sacrificed herself to complete the prince.
This version mkes Ariel a tragic figure and I don't like it.
I love the version of Disney which truth finally be revealed and the wicked witch was defeated.
I believe in happily ever after
, so there's no doubt that prince should be with Ariel in the end.

Cupid is the son of Venus and Venus concidered herself to be the top beauty of the world.
However, people said that Psyche, a princess, was far more pretty than Venus,
so Venus hated Psyche and sent Cupid to kill her or turn her into an ugly monster.
However, Cupid loved Psyche as first sight.
So in order to pretend that he had destroy Psyche, he spread a fake oracle that Psyche is doomed to marry a moster, (but actually Cupid pretended the monster).
He built a beautiful palace for Psyche and hid her there.
Cupid only appears in the night and Psyche never know who her husband really is.
One day, Psyche's two evil sisters came to visit her.
When the saw the magnificent palace and wealthy life that Psyche lived,
they felt very envy and jealous.
Therefore, they persuaded Psyche to discover the true face of her husband and planned an evil plan for her.
They also made Psyche believe that her husband is a dreadful monster, but the two sisters actually knew that Psyche's husband must be some divine figure, because monsters were unable to build a fancy palace.
The simple-minded Psyche did what her sisters told her and found out her husband was Cupid.
She fell in love with the handsome youth immediately, but Cupid was so angry and left her right away.
When Cupid returnt to his home, Venus grounded Cupid for him fail the task and married Psyche.
Few days later, Psyche finally come to Venus' home and asked for seeing Cupid.
Venus gave her three impossible tasks and told her if only she finished, she could be with Cupid again.
Psyche, with the help of other gods and animals, finished the tasks, but Venus still didn't want her to be her daughter-in-law.
In the end, Zeus came out to settle down the anger of Venus and make Psyche a new Olympian godess.
Psyche and Cupid lived happily ever after and had a daughter named Joy.
I love this story because Psyche is so brave for her beloved.
She conquered every hard task she meet in order to win Cupid back again.
and Cupid is an ideal husband,too.
At first, she hid Psyche to protect her out from any harm from Venus.
Later, even when he was grounded by Venus, he escaped and helped Psyche to fulfill her third task.
I think this is the sweetest fairy tale that I've ever read.
