一昨日の金曜、トロントに来てからできた新しいお友達とランチに行ってきた
デートみたいでドキドキでしたが、彼女は気さくでとても話しやすく、楽しく過ごすことができました
（寒い中来てくれてどうもありがとぉ
）
ランチの場所として選んだのは、「オシャレなカフェやレストランが並ぶ素敵スポット」と、以前ちょこっとだけ書いた ことのある リトルイタリー。
通りの表示もイタリア語、レストランに入ればキッチンから陽気なイタリア語が聞こえてくる
プチ・イタリア気分が味わえるのである。（特に夏がすごい
）
私の独断で Regina
というトラットリアに決定
２年前、スコットのグルメなお友達に連れていってもらったことがあり、本格的でとってもおいしいお店だったので
ちなみに、ここのサーバーの人がかなり高いレベルでロバート・デ・ニーロに似ていると思うのは、私とスコットだけだろうか・・・。
それはさておき、肝心なランチについて
お友達は、カナダに引っ越して以来お目にかかってなかったとう 『ボロネーゼ』 をメインに。
少し味見させてもらったけど、ホームメイドソースがおいしかったぁ
私は、リコッタチーズ＆ほうれん草がパスタに巻かれているものをトマトソースでいただく 『マニコッティ』 というパスタを堪能
前菜にブルスケッタを分けっこしようとオーダーしたのだが、量が多すぎて食べ切れなかった
しかも、「一回焦がしたから焼き直しています」 といってパスタより後に出てきて、その頃にはもう満腹だった・・・。
（だいぶ残しちゃって、ちょっともったいなかったし、何より申し訳なかった
）
夜は結構込んでいるらしいけど、平日の開店時だったのでゆっくりできてよかったぁ
２年前ディナーに来た時のほうがおいしかったように思ったけど、シェフがかわったのかな。。。
気のせいかなぁ。。。
スコットは前回行った時体調が良くなくてあまり楽しめなかったみたいだし、また今度ディナーに行ってみようと思う
とにかく、お友達と色々お話できたし、日本語もたくさん話して、とっても楽しかったです
この歳になって、新しく友達を作るというのは、結構な勇気と努力が必要な気がする。。。
色々な余計なことを考えたり、ショートカットしようと探ってみたり、身を守ろうとしたり。。。
（私だけかな・・・
）
でも、今回思い切って出かけてみてよかったと思う。
そして、私に会うために時間をとってくれた彼女にもとても感謝しています
こうやって少しずつでも、素敵なお友達が増えていくといいなぁと思う
A friend and I went to Regina Trattoria and Pizzeria
in Little Italy for lunch. She is a new friend, so it felt kind of like a date

2 years ago, Scott's friends who love great food took us to that trattoria
. We had great food that time (except Scott, who'd been really sick when we went there. He could eat only tomato salad without the dressing. Poor Scott
). When the waiter served us, I realized that he looked EXACTLY like Robert De Niro. Even his mannerisms were the same! I was thinking, "maybe I am the only one who thinks that," when Scott said, "doesn't the waiter remind you of someone?" Of course! He reminds you of Robert DeNiro! Scott agreed, but the friends couldn't really see it...
Anyway it's a great trattoria so I wanted to take her there.
We ordered a Bruschetta as a starter. It actually came after our mains because they burnt it so they had to make it again... But they apologized to us, so that was fine. She ordered homemade Bolognese pasta for her main and I had Manicotti, which is rolled pasta with ricotta cheese and spinich served with tomato sauce, for my main. Both were very good, but not quite as good as the dinner two years ago... Maybe the chef was different?
It's a quite busy place at dinner time, but it was lunch time so we could stay longer and take our time.
I'd like to come back again for dinner with Scott when he isn't sick, then he will be actually able to enjoy it. I hope....
Anyway, we had a good time yesterday.
It's hard sometimes to make new friends because you are not a little child anymore... As you become older and older, you tend to think more and more, try to make shortcuts, or protect yourself and stuff.... I personally think that you need more courage and effort to make new friends as you become older. So it was actually good for me to go out. And at the same time, I also appreciate that she made same effort to meet me.
I am very happy that I found a nice friend in Toronto. I hope that I can make my own friends here, little by little.
