Michael Reaves Dead at 52

Michael Reaves, former Full Devil Jacket guitarist, passed away early Monday morning after a battle with prostate cancer at the age of 52.
The cancer was diagnosed in the spring of last year. Shortly after that Full Devil Jacket reunited for a benefit concert to help offset some of Reaves' medical expenses. The June 19, 2010 show was the first for the group since they split in 2000. The reunion went so well that Full Devil Jacket announced that they would be writing and recording new material in 2011.
"Mike was one of the absolute funniest people you'd ever met. He was just so great to work with," former bandmate Kevin Bebout told The Jackson Sun. "He'd come up with a great guitar lick or solo. He'd run riffs for days. The best thing about working with him, though, was even when we hated each other, we always laughed with each other. It was always a comedy. Ask anyone, he was the funniest guy they knew."
Full Devil Jacket released an EP [1999's 'A Wax Box'] and album [2000's 'Full Devil Jacket'] for Def Jam. During a tour opening for Creed, vocalist Josh Brown suffered a drug overdose and quit the band soon after with Reaves doing the same around the same time.
