According to Wiki , originally Ｍeloｎpan did not have melon flavor, the name came just from the shape and the wrinkled surface that reminds that of a melon
But the concept evolved and now many melonpan have melon flavor

Anyway, it's my favorite

でもウィキペディアで調べたのですが、元々はメロン味じゃなかったらしく、形がメロンに似ていたからメロンパンになったそうですよ

それが発展して、メロン味（香り？）をつけるようになったみたいで
