I'm alright and safe everyone. Compared to the 東北・関東 region, Hokkaido but particularly Asahikawa where I live was not affected by the earthquake. In Asahikawa we didn't feel the earthquake, so I still can't believe such a disaster has occurred.
とにかく、僕は無事です。幸運にも北海道、特に僕が住む旭川は東北・関東地域に比べたら、地震の影響はあまり受けませんでした。旭川では地震があったことすらほとんど感じなかったので、このような惨事が起こったことがいまだに信じられません。
Since the earthquake occurred, I received a lot of messages from people around the world who worried about my safety. I want to thank everyone for their concern. I wanted to reply to each message individually but I decided to write this entry instead. Even though I am safe, I've caught a small cold. It's hard for me to write in English when I have a cold. However, after this update I'll try to reply to each and every message little by little. Please bare with me.
この度たくさんの海外にお住まいの方から僕の安否を気遣うメッセージをいただきました。大変ありがとうございました。本当は個別に返事したかったのですが、とりあえず早く返事しようと思いブログ記事にしました。お伝えしたように僕は無事なのですが、昨日から少し風邪をひいてしまいました。風邪の時は英文を書くのが難しいです。でも、少しづつ返事していくので、今しばしお待ちください。
The media continually reports how many people have died, how many are wounded, and how many people are missing. What's worse... even though I hate to say it is that the numbers keep growing...
どのニュースも数多くの死者、負傷者、行方不明者が出ていることを伝えています。更に酷いことに、お伝えするのも心苦しいのですが、その数は以前増え続けています。
And as far as I know, in a large part of 東北 or 関東 region, there seems to be no gas, electricity, and water. Also there were many homes swept away by the Tsunami. It's not confirmed but there is also a possibility of there being radiation leakage in a nuclear power plant in Fukushima.
東北地域の大部分、関東地域の一部ではガスや電力や水道の供給がストップしているようです。多くの家屋が津波で流されたと聞きます。これはまだ確かではないのですが、福島の原子力発電所では放射能漏れの可能性もあるようです。
I feel helpless and it is in times like these were I wish I could explain the situation better in English.
もう少し、英語で上手く伝えられたらいいのですが。
