昨日のテレビ放送の寄付は、ショップチャネルから直接、各機関に送られます。
これは、先日の私のキッチンスタジオで行いました「シークレットガレージセール」に立ち寄ってくださった方々、この寄付をシェアしてくれた友人の三井洋子ちゃん、シンガーの井上陽水婦人 石川セリさんにより実現したものです。

children in the developing world. Since 2000, we have published 226 local
language children's titles, established over 5,100 libraries, worked with
local villages to build 442 schools, funded 155 computer and language labs,
and provided 4,036 girls with long-term scholarships through secondary
school. At Room to Read, we believe that there is no more valuable
investment than the gift of education and the life change it can provide.

We focus our activities in 8 countries, all with a desperate lack of
educational resources: Cambodia, India, Laos, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam,
South Africa, and Zambia. Thanks to the support of donors like you, we have
been able to reach over 1.7 million of these children through our
educational programs. We take our role as stewards of your gift extremely
seriously and work hard to ensure that, as of year end 2007, 86% of every
donation goes directly to our programs and those that need it most.
With your support, we will continue to scale and reach out to more
communities providing educational access and opportunity. It is our goal to
establish a library in 13,000 villages by the year 2010 reaching 5 million
children. With your help, we will celebrate reaching this milestone
