I went to a hospital because I have heyfever.
Then I took some photos of my hometown.
I don't want foreign people to be disappointed to see Japan, but generally speaking Japanese cities and towns are too modern and busy.
Even in Kyoto, there are quite a few ugly buildings.
I suppose real Japanese beauty exists in the suburbs or countryside.
We must conserve and proud of our culture more!!!
However I can say you can find many lovely places in the town.
I'd like to show you my pretty hometown Oita.
In the central, there are lots of sculptures especially alongside "Yuhodo (enjoy walking street ?!)".
I noticed that most of the sculpture's subject were the connection between Oita and Europe.
In 16th century, some Jesuits came to Kyusyu which was the most southern big island of Japan.
Our hometown belonged to Kyushu and actually St. Francis Xavier came to here.
Then our king became Christian and he wanted to learn about Western culture. We can see his sculpture in front of the Oita station, and also Sir Anthony van Dyck painted him.
In addition, once a boy from Oita visited Rome and met a Pope in 16th century. There is also his sculpture in the Yuhodo.
The sculpture in this photo is "The first European music in Japan". It is said that the Western music firstly came to here.(...but if my memory serves me well, it's controversial)
The camellia comes out now!
Next picture is the "Funai castle" in front of the sculpture. When I belonged to a brassband, I had played the tuba in there.
Unfortunately, It was under construction.
Usually the Japanese castles are surrounded by a trench filled with water.
This is a sculpture next to a bank.
