I had said that 2009 was an great year for Japanese pop music and some of that greatness has carried over into 2010. Here are some of the songs and PVs that I really liked that were released in the first quarter of 2010.
バラード ~ Ballade

I love Akira Hokuto. I follow her blog. I respect her because she's a great mom and a good wife, she is a part of a very successful busienss with Kensuke Office professional wrestling and you can't resist her smile.

Chemistry
An opening theme from "Full Metal Alchemist" it's the first Chemistry song in a long time that is not a "sleeper". Even if it was not from Chemistry, I still like the song!
Forever Love
Shota Shimizu x Miliyah Kato ~ 清水翔太×加藤ミリヤ
Not to be confused with "Love Forever", a 2009 release by the same artists with a similar song but different lyrics.
FAKE - feat Namie Amuro 安室奈美恵
AI
Fun song ~ even more fun PV!
Akkanbe Bashi ~ アッカンベー橋
Watari Roka Hashiri Tai - 渡り廊下走り隊
When I first heard this song, I thought it was a joke or something you would expect to hear on "Minna no Uta". Don't get me wrong, I like "Minna" but when I finally saw the PV for this song, it now makes me look forward to hearing the song on J1. The song made #1 on Oricon, the first idol sub-group to ichiban there.. that is no joke.
Some may ask why "Narita Express" by Bennie Becca was not on this list. That is a second quarter release but will likely be on this blog when I write it 3 months from now. Thanks for listening to J1!
