I really interested in reading detective story, and I always wondering that what make the detective story.
Therefore, I try to analysis those factors.
There are many factors that make a detective story. They are distinguished into characters, types of case and solutions. These three main elements are the keys of making a good detective story.
First, the characters in the detective story include a detective, side kick, victim, witness, and criminal. The detective needs a side kick to help him getting more professionalism. He would find some clues from the victim and witness which could help him to find the criminal.
Second, there are different types of cases, for example, crime, murder, stealing and kidnap. The subjects of “The Adventure of The Speckled Band” and “The Blue Carbuncle” are murder and stealing.
Third, the solutions of the detective story are from evidences, clues and deductions. The detective organizes the deductions through those evidences and clues. Therefore, he could solve the problems.
Due to the above factors, the detective story could attract readers’ attention and they would enjoy the plot of the story.
