COVID-19 has taken over the world by storm and the Gaming industry is no exception. Many big Gaming events that got cancelled due to global pandemic. Now, Minecraft Festival 2020 is the latest addition to the list.
In a recent tweet, Lady Agnes from Mojang Studios has confirmed that the Minecon 2020 will now be an online only event.

I have seen many questions on if there will be a Minecraft Live event/Minecon this year - and I'm super happy to say there indeed will be a broadcast! And we will for sure show some exciting new things then ;). More info will come next month - so stay tuned for that!

Agnes also confirmed that the final details like the schedule date, timing etc will be shared with the Minecraft fans in the coming month.
Speculations are that the event will happen around late September or early October. But, nothing can be said unless the official announcement is made.
Every year, the Minecon event happens on live stream where fans come together to see what new things are being released on Minecraft, have fun sessions with the Minecraft team and much more.
This year Microsoft had plans to make this an offline event to be held in Orlando and called it Minecraft Festival. But last month, they delayed the event due to the pandemic.
After that there was no news regarding the event and fans were posting questions over all the social media platforms whether the Minecraft Festival will happen or is it cancelled. Although, most of minecraft players had hopes that the event might be delayed but it will happen later this year.
Answering all these questions, Lady Agnes, who is a lead game developed at the Mojang studios tweeted about the plans regarding Minecraft Fest.
As soon as the tweet came, most of the fans reacted sadly to the news. On the other hand, some fans are in fact happy that they can attend the event safely from the comfort of their homes.
Minecraft is a 3D sandbox game that was first released in 2011. The players are free to create their own world inside the game. It requires skills like creativity, motion and clicking speed. The game also has tools like click speed test etc to help gamers improve.
In recent years, Minecraft has become one of the biggest game franchises in the world. It has more than 120 million monthly active players and this number is rising steep during the pandemic.
