― ワシントンDCに銀色の円盤が着陸し、人間の姿で奇妙な服を着た男が現れた。彼の名はクラートゥ。自分は宇宙人であり、地球人には危害を加えないと語る。しかし警備兵は彼に向かって発砲してしまう。船体から巨大なロボットのゴートが現われ、周囲の武器を破壊しようとするが、クラートゥはロボットを制止した。
彼は大統領秘書に、地球上の指導者たちが核兵器や戦争による殺戮で他の天体の征服を考えるのは、他の星からの攻撃に繋がることを忠告したいと言った。彼は地球人を説得する平和の使者であった。指導者たちが彼と同席することを拒んだため、クラートゥは宿屋に住み街の人々に紛れ込んだ。彼は科学者バーンハート教授と会い、使命の重大さを認識させるために世界中の電気を止めることにする。
しかしクラートゥの意図は誤解され、逮捕命令が出された。軍に逮捕されたとき、彼は致命傷を負ってしまう。ゴートは救出のためなら市の破壊も行う。クラートゥは使命を果たすことができるのか。

A short clip from the classic sci-fi film from 1951, "The Day The Earth Stood Still."
Klaatu's mission to Earth is to save us from ourselves and put an end to war. He hasn't been too successful unfortunately, so perhaps we can expect a visit from the robot, Gort, one of several space-policemen, whose job it is to patrol the planets keeping warmongers and war-mongering nations in order.
Michael Rennie plays Klaatu, and thank God TV reporters no longer wear hats when reporting! Robert Wise directed the film.
This film was made during the cold-war when paranoia reigned supreme. I don't think it's much better now, and they're still just as trigger-happy.
The 2008 remake is undoubtedly good, but not a classic like this one
Plenty of other clips of this film on YouTube, but seemingly, it remains the only one viewable in High-Quality.

首都に聳え立つ巨大なオベリスクの方が、怖い！！(((( ;°Д°))))
これがまさしく、「人間に契約させられる、Greeed＝アンク」
仮面ライダーOOO（オーズ） VOL.1【DVD】
と、まったき相似形。
キアヌリーブースの「リメイク」は、どうもVisitor が恐怖で脅す、設定？なんですか←観てない。
１８０度反転＝ＵＦＯ陰謀説＝ＮＷＯ側の脅しの理論に書き変えられちゃってません？
