Starting the NCL Cruise -1 week trip - NCL 1週間の旅の始まり
Before I begin I will do a short introduction for new readers.

I am a Special Educational Needs teacher in Northern Ireland (UK). I am writing a blog to give advice on Special Educational Needs and to practice my Japanese. I might write about other topics that interest me from time to time.

NCL Norwegian Jade - クルーズ船 - ノルウェージャン ジェイド
For the past two weeks I spoke about my time in Athens with my parents and younger brother. To recap, we spent two nights there before going to the port to board the cruise ship, the Norwegian Jade.

Our time in Athens was kind of a disaster, so we were very happy to be leaving the city to board our cruise ship.

We had a crazy taxi experience all the way to the port. The taxi driver clearly thought of himself as a daredevil as he went in and out around cars and clearly did not care much about the speed limit. I am happy to annouce we arrived at the port without getting killed.
港までずっとクレイジーなタクシー体験をしました。タクシーの運転手は、車に乗り込んだり降りたりする自分を命知らずだと思ったが、明らかに制限速度をあまり気にしていなかった。人的被害なく港に到着できたことをうれしく思います。
We checked into the port, received our keycard, gave our luggage to the staff and went through the standard security check. After leaving the security area we got our first proper look at the ship and it was stunning! Not only that, but the ship was massive!
We boarded the ship and located our fire assembly point. The member of staff then signed off that we completed the fire safety training. We then got something to eat since we weren't able to access our room immediately. The buffet was amazing. I got to admit, I preferred the food on this cruise ship compared to the Royal Caribbean cruise ship the previous summer.

At the buffet I chose a fry. I kept things simple lol.

Not long after our meal it was then announced over the intercom that passengers could now access their rooms. So, we went straight to our room. I don't have any good pictures of the room unfortunately. I might have a video. If I do have a video I will insert it later. If not, well, there will be no video lol.
食事の直後、乗客が客室にアクセスできるようになったというアナウンスがインターホンで行われました。それで私たちは部屋に直行しました。残念ながら部屋の良い写真はありません。動画があるかも知れません。動画がある場合は後で挿入します。そうしないと、まあ、ビデオがありません（笑）。
The room however, was spacious and did have a very nice balcony which I enjoyed sitting at and sunbathing.
しかし、部屋は広々としていて、座って日光浴を楽しむことができるとても素敵なバルコニーがありました。
Not long after arriving at the room our luggage appeared at our door. That was very lucky! The previous summer we had to wait a very long time for our luggage to arrive. So we started to unpack and get things in the room all organised and tidied away.
部屋に着くとすぐに荷物が玄関に現れました。それはとても幸運でした！去年の夏、私たちは荷物が到着するまで非常に長い間待たなければなりませんでした。そこで私たちは荷物を開梱し、部屋の中のものをすべて整理し始めました。
Afterwards I decided to sit on the balcony for a while. I got a very cool view of the port. There were still many passengers arriving.
その後、僕はしばらくバルコニーに座ることにしました。港が見えてとても景色がよかったです。まだ多くの乗客が到着していました。
After this we decided to explore the ship. We went to the pool area, checked out the gym, found the library and game center area. We discovered the sports area and had a look at the many different restaurants. It was a massive ship and I was already starting to think I preferred this ship compared to the one from the previous summer.
この後、船内を探索することにしました。私たちはプールエリアに行き、ジムをチェックし、図書館とアーケードエリアを見つけました。私たちはスポーツエリアを発見し、さまざまなレストランを覗いてみました。大きな船だったので、去年の夏の船よりもこの船の方が好きだなと思い始めていました。
We also discovered the Irish pub restaurant. As I have mentioned in my introduction I am Northern Irish (also a British citizen). So I was very excited to have a meal at the Northern Irish pub restaurant. In fact that is where we had our first dinner. When my parents and younger brother opened the menu we realised it wasn't very Irish at all. The food was actually more American lol. Typical lol. However we got our very messy American food and enjoyed the meal.
アイリッシュパブレストランも発見。自己紹介で述べたように、僕は北アイルランド人です (そしてイギリス国民でもあります)。それで、北アイリッシュパブレストランで食事をするのがとても楽しみでした。実際、そこは私たちが最初の夕食をとった場所です。両親と兄がメニューを開いたとき、それがまったくアイルランドっぽくないことに気づきました。食べ物は実際にはもっとアメリカンでした（笑）。典型的ですね（笑）。しかし、私たちはとても汚いアメリカ料理を手に入れ、食事を楽しみました。
We didn't have any big plans that night. We just explored the ship some more. We spent a lot of time in the shopping area. We looked at the many expensive watches and perfumes. Had a lot at the various sweets and alcohol that could be bought. We also enjoyed looking at some of the clothes, some of which me and my brother bought for our dad.
その夜は大きな予定はありませんでした。船内をもう少し探索してみました。私たちはショッピングエリアで多くの時間を過ごしました。私たちは高価な時計や香水をたくさん見ました。色々なお菓子やお酒を見つけることができました。素敵なお洋服もたくさん見つかりました。弟と僕は旅の後半で父のためにTシャツを買うことになりました。
We had a very exciting cruise adventure ahead of us and I am looking forward to sharing it with all of you.
