Manley Mastering Insert

After a while that they pre-release the previous set of mastering insert, meter bridge and monitor boxes sometimes ago.

The new box seems much more in the Manley family and more feature sets. (Even surpasses the custom mastering console) 3 stereo inputs , fully balanced, full bypass switch, L/R reverse, priority reverse, 8 inserts, 24 Greyhill stepped, pre and post gain, Processors 2 & 3 has M/S, Processors 4 & 5 has swap orders, fade knob and aux mix knob for Aux.

We like the features so much. It will be nice if there is a choice of mixing/using the tube line amp or Manley Rapture like the TNT. If you read our equipment page, you know we are a big fan of Manley tube gears, Out custom rack has 16 bulbs running with hot signal. We will see when will it be launch on the market

Tokyo International Audio Show 2007

We represent Weiss Engineering to meet with Japan distributor and setup meetings. We also check with how other brands new develop and found few very good sounding and interesting products. The JBL 6600 is very impressive, the Avalon Acoustics ISIS speaker demo is also very nice sounding, with a large sound stage with precise sound images.

During the show, we are happy to meet with Steve and Joe Harley from AudioQuest. MR. Yin Tang from Groove Note and Joe were playing back the BLUENOTE LP test pressing. They licensed over 65 titles from the golden Blue Note era. Maybe because of these 65 titles I will have to setup a LP playback system, although we already have the ultimate Studer A820 for analogue playback.

The World Most Expansive CD

This is the most world expansive CD ~ $98700Yen, around US$863 and in HK$6500!!! Japanese Brand - Fine N&F. Ya, I'm not talking about CD PLAYER, but just a Compact Disc - CD.

It is made by Extreme Hard Glass. It's not plastic but real glass. I have studied all of those reflectivity of glass and digital media data record and playback many years ago. But it's hardly understanding that since digital audio era, those readings are purely in digital binary code "01101101100". There are many advanced technologies to resolve the jitter for real time purposes.

This Extreme Hard Glass CD provides a 87 pages booklet and a normal CD for people to compare and reference. From reviews, it says the quality even surpass SACD. I do like the plexiglas cases with that magnet cover.
