Gentには、素敵なレストランがたくさんありました。There were many lovely restaurants in Gent.
Gentに行ったらムール貝と、Gent名物のワーテルゾーイ（Waterzooi）を絶対に食べたいと思っていました。ワーテルゾーイとは、鶏肉などが入ったクリームシチューと似た郷土料理です。レストランの表にあるメニューを見て色々と探し回った結果、ある雰囲気の良いお店にムール貝withワーテルゾーイがあったので、そこに決めました。夜のライトアップも素敵でした。ベルギーのムール貝は、オランダのよりも肉厚で大きいと思います。とっても美味しかったのですが、私は満腹で全部は食べられなかったので、ルーディに手伝ってもらいました。満腹なのに、デザートにワッフルを食べたくて、頼んでしまいました。サクサクとした軽めのワッフルで良かったです。ルーディが飲んだFlemish Coffeeは、フランドル地方のコーヒーで、ジンが入っています。私も少し飲ませてもらいましたが、ジンがとても強かったです。I had already decided what to eat in Gent before going to Gent. They were moules and Waterzooi, which was famous as a special local dish in Gent. It is like a cream stew with chicken. We found a lovely restaurant which served Waterzooi while looking at menu at each restaurant. It was nice to have lit up at night. I thought Belgium moules were bigger an thicker than the ones in Holland. It was so delicious, but the dish had too much for me, so Rudie helped me with finishing it. Although I was full, I ordered a waffle as a dessert. It was crunch and light, so it was perfect for me. The coffee Rudie ordered was a Flander's coffee and gin was in it. I took a sip and I felt it was quite strong.
