Re-R HYBRID

image

Here's a secret setup!

Re-R HYBRID rear lower arms...

image

Very narrow, and does not look symmetrical front to back.
You may have thought...why??

There is a reason for this design.

Dampers can be mounted directly on to the rear knuckle or upright...

image

And also can be mounted on the lower arm...this enables wide range of setup capability.

However....there is a hole in front of the lower arm...(now also added on rear of the arms on the 2017 models)

image
This hole...typically is used for the stabilizer, or sway bar...

But....this position is specifically designed to be here....for a reason!

Why??? Well...

image

Tada!

Mount a standoff in front of the shock tower and mount the dampers on the middle hole.

This is designed specifically in this position to make the dampers and the rear suspension feel more connected.

This also requires the shock tower to be rigid, which is why its aluminum!

image

See how it looks from the rear?

image
Will be up to your preference....but personally the dampers behind the shock tower makes the chassis look so "RC"....probably good for maintenance...but having the dampers in front of the shock tower and the arms just makes it look more unified.

This was part of the Re-R HYBRID design from the beginning, but the standard position is in the rear so it is somewhat similar to other chassis...

With the dampers on the middle of the arm, the arms can droop fully with the dampers extended.

image
Why do you need that much ride height??

Due to the lever ratio, once you put the battery on the chassis...will go back to normal ride height.

image
image
You will need to preload the springs to gain ride height....which is also the basis of the Re-R HYBRID design!

You can use MSR long, or MSF all around as well.

image
Traction will increase and the chassis will zoooom!

Make sure you match the right tires for the surface and the right oil to adjust the timing of the pitch and roll of the chassis.

This is for RWD setup and not necessarily for AWD or CS.

Enjoy Re-R HYBRID!

Happy Drifting!
