My dog Charles was outside the other night. He was barking loudly at something (probably the ramen truck--He HATES the ramen truck!). I wanted for him to come back inside because I worried that he was bothering the whole neighborhood.
Often, if I call his name he just ignores me. So I tried a new way of calling him inside. I opened the door and called out, "Does my dog want some cheese?"
I could hear his footsteps BARRELING * through the garden, and he FLEW in the door! He immediately looked up at me expectantly. "Where's the cheese?! Where's the cheese?!" I gave him a little bit of cheese right away.
I know how to get my dog to come inside quickly now.
* Barreling--going very quickly, and maybe roughly--Imagine someone rolling a barrel (樽) quickly and dangerously over the ground.
