I'm sure you know about the NHK morning drama "Come, Come, Everybody!" (カムカムエヴリバティ)

I heard the radio program's song recently for the first time. 

A student told me the English words to the song.

 

Come come everybody.

How do you do, and how are you?

Won't you have some candy?

One and two and three four, five.

Let's all sing a happy song.

Sing trala la la la la.

 

When I was 5 years old, my father bought me a Disney record album.  I loved listening to it over and over.  I don't remember any of the songs but one.  It was a strange song with a lovely melody.  I couldn't understand everything the singer was saying.  It had some strange language.  

Do you know what the song was?  "Shojoji!"  I didn't realize it was a Japanese song.  Then when I heard the "Come, Come, Everybody" song, I remembered the song from my Disney album when I was a child.  I checked on Youtube and found the same song from the same album I had when I was 5 years old.  

Japanese people talk about a "red string".  Maybe this song was at the very beginning of that string?
