I made lasagna for dinner last night for the first time in a long time (久しぶりに).  My family loves lasagna, so it disappeared (消えた) very quickly. 

Many lasagna recipes use bechamel sauce (ベシャメルソース), but my mother always made lasagna with a tomato and meat sauce, and no bechamel.  I use my mother's recipe.

This lasagna has layers (重ね)of lasagna noodles, meat/tomato sauce, cottage cheese, grated (すりおろした) cheese, and parmesan cheese.  It tastes like home! 〈お母さんの味)

I made a side dish of asparagus, shitake mushrooms (しいたけ)、red onion, garlic, and olive oil. I had planned to cook green beans (いんげん), but yesterday asparagus was cheaper (安い).

Lasagna is a comfort food for many people.
