We call the day before vernal equinox, Setusbun. Today is Setusbun.  In Japan, we enjoy Bean Throwing Festival on Setubun. Shouting “Goblins out and Fortune in!”, we scatter beans as Goblin do not like beans. After throwing, we eat roasted soy bean for each year of one’s age and pray for happiness. They say beans contains the evil of the previous year. That is  why we roast and eat these beans. Roast means to prevent evil from sprouting. We also eat special fortune sushi roll without stopping, facing the lucky direction of this year. This year, north-northeast. While you eating, you shouldn’t speak anything and focus on chanting an invocation in your heart.
In temples and shrines, there are many events. Usually, sumo wrestlers are invited to get the evil spirit away.
