The chime rang at the door.
出てみれば若い男性です。
I found a young man in front of me.
ポロシャツ姿ではありますが清潔そうです。
He was wearing a clean polo shirt.
かなりイケメンですね。
Quite good looking.
医療用マスクの下に、もう一つの甘いマスクがありそうでした。
It seemed that he had another sweet mask under his medical mask.
そのイケメンさんがおっしゃるには・・・・
Here's what he said to me.
「上のブロックのTさん宅の屋根を修理に来て、今終わったところです。
“I've just finished repairing the roof of Mr.T's.
TさんはAさんからのご紹介がご縁でした。
Mr.A kindly introduced me to Mr.T.
修理中に気が付いたのですが、お宅の屋根もちょっとめくれているようです。When I looked down on your roof, I found some problems. That's why I'm here now.
くぎを打つくらいならば無料でやって差し上げますよ」
I can repair yours at once with some nails free of charge.”
いや～何ともご親切。
What a kind offer it was!
大変な好感度でしたのでお願いしようかと思いました。
He sounded so nice that I almost decided to accept his kindness.
すると青年は、「親方に連絡の上、出直します」と言い残して立ち去りました。
He left saying,“I'll talk to my boss and come back to you with him.”
一人になった私はじっと内省しました。
I was left alone and started to consider.
１．イケメンすぎる。
1, The guy was too handsome and too nice.
２．屋根の修理直後にしては衣服が汚れていない。
2, His clothes were too clean for a carpenter who has just finished his work.
３．ドアの向こうから（顔も見る前に）「おかあさん」と私に呼びかけた。
3, Before he saw my face he called me Mother, which I don't like very much.
この辺で何やら匂う気がしてきました。
Then I started to think it was fishy.
「おかあさん」なんて馴れ馴れしく呼ばれてろくな目に遭ったことはありません。When a young man called me Mother, nothing good has happened to me!
私は直ぐにTさんのお家を訪ねて事情を伺いました。
I visited Mr.T on the spot and asked him about the construction of his roof.
１．Aさんからの紹介などではなく飛び込みだった。
1, Mr.A has never introdused the carpenter to Mr.T.
２．上から見たら屋根がこわれかけている（私に言ったのとまったく同じセリフ！）2, The carpenter said the same thing. Mr.T's roof was broken when viewed from above.
３．「くぎを打つだけなら無料」のはずが６万円になり。値引きして４万円になった。3, It was supposed to be free if it was done only with some nails. But he was charged 40000yen!
うわ～これは大変！！
Wow! It's a big issue.
家に戻ろうとしたらお隣の旦那さんに出会いました。
On the way back home I saw the next door husband.
お隣の旦那さんいわく・・・
He said,
「うちにも今朝来て同じことをいわれたよ。
“The one also came to me this morning and said the same thing.
屋根は今年直したばかりなのに馬鹿を言うな、と言ったら逃げちゃったよ」
I told him that I'd had my roof repaired this year. Don't say rubbish! Then he run away.”
いやはや・・・・。
Oh, no！
イケメン氏の名刺をもらってあったのでネットで調べてみました。
I had the guy's busuness card. So I checked up the company on the internet.
会社はどうやら存在するようです。
I found the company.
クチコミもお星さま五つがズラリと並んでいます。
The KUCHIKOMI, the evaluation from the people, was quite good in the begining. I saw many 5-stars.
しかし・・・・やがて星一つを幾つも見つけはじめました。
But soon I started to see some 1-star!
「こちらの業者は点検商法的な事を致しますので注意が必要です」
“You have to be careful because this company tries to catch you with a cunning technique.”
「危ない会社です」
“This is a dangerous company.”
「詐欺業者のようだ。このレビューで星５がついているのは自社社員の自作自演です」
“Looks like a scammer. The 5-stars in the review were written by the company workers.”
うわ～！怖いですねえ！
