うちの主人が言いました。
My husband said,
「僕の母国では明日（2月3日）から新型コロナワクチン接種が始まるよ。中国が無償でくれたんだって。日本は動きが遅いねえ」
“In my country, Pakistan, the vaccination will start from tomorrow. China gave us the vaccine for free. When will it start in Japan? It's so late here, isn't it?”
カチンときた私。
I was dismayed.
自分でも「日本はグズ」と思っていますが、
I myself admit that Japan is slow.
外国人（うちの旦那）から言われると何故か腹立たしいのです。
But I feel uncomfortable if somebody else point it out.
それで調べてみますと・・・・
So I checked it out.
インドと中国はそれぞれ自国内産ワクチンを他国に提供（有償・無償ともに）して感謝されているそうで、まるでワクチン外交みたいだなあと思いました。
India and China offer vaccine which they made in their country to other countries. The vaccine is sometimes free and sometimes with payment. The countries getting benefits are grateful to India or China, of course. I thought it was like diplomacy.
それにしても・・・・
Well.....
我が国日本はやることが慎重なんだかグズなんだか・・・・
Is my country, Japan, too cautious or just slow?
とにかくこの歴史上に残るであろうパンデミックにおいて、残念ながら「ワクチン先進国の」名を残すことには失敗しましたね。
Anyhow, now it seems impossible for Japan to leave a name as an advanced country of vaccine in the history of this pandemic.
