There are several Houkoku shrines. I didn’t know that. I think it’s important to research such things before going. For my next trip, I plan to look into it beforehand.
千畳閣は厳島神社末社豊国神社の本殿の通称
とのことです
Senjokaku is the main hall of the subsidiary shrine, Houkoku Shrine, associated with Itsukushima Shrine.
畳857枚分の広さがあることから
「千畳閣」と呼ばれるようになったそうで
豊臣秀吉が建立をしたのですが、
まだ未完成ということです
確かに何もない
It seems to be called Senjoukaku because it has the floor space equivalent to 857 tatami mats. Toyotomi Hideyoshi is said to have initiated its construction, but it remains unfinished. Indeed, there is nothing there yet.

There is a huge Shamoji.
そばには朱色が綺麗な五重塔が
建っていました
綺麗ですね
A beautiful five-story pagoda with a vibrant vermilion color stood beside the Senjyoukaku. So beautiful.

The Senjoukaku and the five-story pagoda are registered as World Cultural Heritage assets of Itsukushima Shrine.
