Here's a recap video of our day trip to Fujikawaguchiko last year. We arrived just when spring was starting to creep in so there weren't a lot of cherry blossoms yet. Mt. Fuji looks surreal (and I mean this in an extremely good way!). I had a really great time here; my only regret is that we couldn't stay longer at the time. Should you wish to visit the area, here are some spots + activities to try:

➜ Lake Kawaguchi: You can rent bikes and swan pedal boats! And while you roam around the area, make sure to stop by some local eateries to try delicacies. There's an abundance of izakayas, cafes, yakiniku and hotpot places in the vicinity.
➜ Fuji-Q Highland: I highly recommend this if you love theme parks and visit during fair weather. We couldn't ride the steepest roller coaster when we visited due to strong winds! :( I suggest you try the roller coaster if you love the adrenaline rush too!
➜ Kawaguchiko Music Forest: Here's where I rented the red dress I'm wearing in the video. They have music shows and automated orchestras that play almost every hour! You can also participate in a social media game and win a prize!
➜ Chureito Pagoda + Mt. Fuji viewing deck: Must visit very early in the morning. You'll get to climb up the stairs with and talk to local grandpas who make it their morning exercise routine.
➜ There are also a lot of kimono rentals in the area, so you should totally do that if that's your thing because the town's scenery is just so fitting!

Oh, and if you're traveling solo or in a small group (and you're okay to share sleeping quarters, recreational areas, and a kitchen with strangers), you should book at K's House Fuji View! The place is really affordable and the staff is super accomodating. 💖
