After leaving Tokyo, we headed to the town of Kawaguchiko for supplies and then to the Mt. Fuji 5th Station to begin our climb. It took nearly 8 hours from noon to 8 pm to reach the Fujisan Hotel mountain hut. There you get a meal and a sleeping bag on a shared bunk bed. Pretty basic, but it is on top of a mountain! At 2 am we woke up and began the final climb to the summit just in time to catch the sunrise! Another job well done!
