I've been here for about one and a half year, but I can't improve my English skill. I'm very disappointed about that
So I decided to read many English books
Fortunately there are many reading books at British Council where I goes to learn English nowadays, those books are free ! Now I'm reading "Slumdog Millionaire". I've already watched the movie
, but I couldn't understand the details of the story because there was no subtitle. The original story is diferrent from the movie, but I really enjoy it.
Before going to bed every night I'm reading another book " The Last Lecture". The author is Mr. Randy Paush, he passed away for pancreatic cancer about two years ago. I didn't know his story well, but when I watched the video about him in class a month ago, I was interested to know more about him. At first I watched the video again at home. Luckily, I found it with Japanese subtitle, so I could understand it well. And then I finally bought the book because I wanted to know the details more and more. It's difficult for me to understand all the details for my poor English, but actually I could get more information about him. He was really intelligence, attractive and strong. He had also the sense of humor. I was very impressed by him and I hoped he could have survived for his family. Fate is cruel, but he might not have thought so. The most impressive sentence from his speech is "We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand" May his soul rest in Heaven![]()
